Former CEO and Founder of a Massachusetts based Management and Marketing company for 13 years, and owner of 2 award-winning restaurants and the only Irish Pub on Martha's Vineyard. BSBA graduate of the University of Denver, and the Daniels College of Business Deans Society “distinguished lecturer." Past President and founding member of the Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club. A veteran of the ANZAC forces in Southeast Asia. Past Chair and current Board Member of the BBB of South Florida and the Islands. Co-Chair for CAI's CEO-MC Annual Retreat. Sold his Florida company of 15 years to the RealManage Family of Companies in 2019, and is now their President of Business Development nationwide.

Chris Ayoub, MBA - President
Christopher serves as President of RealManage, with over 20 years of leadership experience. He joined the company in 2015 and has been heavily involved in every aspect of the business, with an emphasis on operations and mergers and acquisitions.
With a proven track record of providing the highest level of service to his clients, Christopher has conducted over 10 acquisitions. Since joining, RealManage has received the honor of being named Inc. 5000's list of the fastest-growing private companies in America four times.
Prior to joining the RealManage family, Christopher held the position of Chief Operating Officer for a Fortune 500 leading-edge subsidiary real estate technology company, where he headed efforts to become one of the first companies to execute a Digital Close Real Estate transaction. Under Ayoub's leadership, the company was selected by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for their national mortgage eClosing pilot.
Christopher is a distinguished Iraqi Freedom combat veteran with over 60 combat missions to his name. In addition, he was named Top 40 Under 40 of North Texas in 2019 and enjoys competing in various styles of martial arts.
Karl J. Badey, CPA, MST – Member
Karl is tax services partner with MMNT. He is responsible for HR and educating the firm's staff on tax law, regulation, requirements, and practice standards.
Bringing more than 25 years of small and large firm experience to MMNT, Karl joined MMNT in 2010 and became a member in 2013. His areas of expertise include tax planning, corporate and partnership tax returns, estate planning, IRS and DRS audit representation, and transaction planning for business acquisitions and succession. He has conducted speaking engagements for civic groups, schools, and client forums regarding tax law changes and pronouncements, and has published various articles.
He received his BS degree in 1993 in Public Accounting and Finance with minors in Economics and Music from Pace University. He received his Master of Science in 1998 in Taxation (MST) from the University of Hartford and received his CPA license in 1997.
Karl is a member of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA). He serves on various local boards of nonprofit organizations.
Cat Carmichael, PCAM – CEO
Cat Carmichael, PCAM has been serving community associations for three decades, as a community management executive, HOA financial services professional, writer, and speaker. She was a key contributor to the development of the Community Association's Institute's (CAI) Educated Business Partner distinction and the Manager Employment and Engagement initiative geared to attract and retain professionals to the community association market.
As the founder of Strategy 123, Cat works with CEOs of HOA Management companies to create exit strategies geared to enhance the company's metrics around profitability, market desirability, and readiness for acquisition.
Cat served as chair of the CAI's Business Partners Council and five years on the international Board of Trustees, where she served as its 2019 President.
Breakout 2 Topic: “Productive Conversations: Attracting Talent to the Community Association Industry: Hiring and Leading a Diverse Workforce"

The headlines about the changing workforce are impacting this industry in many ways. The recently-released report from the Foundation for Community Association Research will be provided, and some of its insights will be discussed.

“The New Diversity — Engaging the Generational Workforce"
The workplace is filled with significant generational differences and associated challenges between Traditionalists, Boomers, Generation X-ers, and the newest group – the Millennials. The Millennials are the generation born between 1982 and 2000 that were formed by attentive, helicopter parents, schools that propagate high self-esteem, and an ingrained comfort with dependency on technology. Each generation learns, values, thinks, develops differently and must be led differently. Yet each generation has common ground which managers can leverage and build on. Come discuss how to coach and mange each generational group.

As a former senior-level manager at Southwest Airlines, Jason learned the value of a successful workplace culture. During his 10-years with the airline consistently rated No. 1 in customer service and employee satisfaction, he was a key driver in creating and developing the company's innovative training programs for its successful leadership and customer service culture that have become renowned in the business world today.
Driven by the need to extend his unique insight in leadership development to others outside Southwest, Jason separated from the pack in 1998, when he left the airline to launch his own consulting practice to focus on corporate training and development services provider specializing in leadership, customer service and team building. He has even returned to his old turf – Southwest Airlines – to extend his knowledge as a corporate training consultant in leadership development area once again. He has even captured his philosophy of creating high performance cultures in his recent book, The Culturetopia Effect.
Capturing the innovative strategies and tactics he created at Southwest Airlines, Jason offers insights and practical information that can be implemented immediately. His keynote presentations and training programs are in demand for audiences of all types – from senior level executives to front line employees.
