Feb. 8, 2017 — Falls Church, VA — Community Associations Institute (CAI), the leading authority in community association education, governance and management, has once again earned national recognition for receiving the “Best Workplaces for Commuters” designation. The designation is only awarded to companies who provide employees with benefits that result in at least 14% of their employees no longer driving alone to and from work within a year. 

“The 231 companies designated as the 2017 Best Workplaces for Commuters are part of a national movement,” said Julie Bond, program manager for Best Workplaces for Commuters. “Companies are recognizing that it makes good business sense to provide commuter benefits, such as subsidizing bus fares, designating parking for carpoolers or allowing employees to work from home.” 

The Best Workplaces for Commuters program is managed by the Center for Urban Transportation Research and offers workplaces of all sizes support services to promote non-driving commuting and assistance to determine which commuter benefit options offer financial savings plus employee value.

“At CAI, flexibility is a workplace standard for our employees who can create their own schedules, work at home, receive carpooling assistance, use our free metro shuttle bus and receive free parking and metro card benefits,” said Jessica Ortiz, PHR, director of Human Resources. “We’re honored to receive recognition for an award that also values employee benefits.”
