One of the impacts of COVID-19 is the increased number of virtual community association meetings. To see both a state's current status of virtual meetings and statutes governing electronic voting, please click on a state below. The states with electronic voting are
bolded and have an asterisk (*) after the state name.
- Green states - Remote meetings are contingent on an association’s governing documents, charter, bylaws. If governing documents are silent, the state nonprofit or business corporation act allows remote and virtual meetings
- Blue states - A state statute governing community associations allows for remote or virtual meetings.
- Gray states - Emergency powers enacted by the COVID-19 state of emergency allow associations to meet remote or virtually.
- Khaki states - There are no applicable statues. Remote meetings contingent on an association’s articles of incorporation, charter, bylaws.
