The Bay Area and Central California chapters of the Community Associations Institute, the largest membership organization representing community associations in California, have agreed to merge. The new chapter, CAI Bay Area and Central California, will benefit community associations, managers, attorneys, builder/developers and other membership segments through streamlined operations and enhanced programming to foster excellence in community associations.
"This strategic restructuring of CAI in California will give us additional resources to help common interest developments become more competent, harmonious and effective," said Michael Terrizzi Esq., president of CAI's Bay Area and Central California chapter. "With the rapid growth in the number of condominium, cooperative and homeowner associations in our area, there's never been a greater need for efficient, widespread dissemination of CAI's educational resources and expertise."
The new chapter will cover 12 counties in the Greater Bay Area from Sonoma to Monterey, extending eastward to Contra Costa and San Benito counties (the former Bay Area chapter territory); and the Central Valley, including Stockton, Modesto, Merced, Fresno and the foothills of the Sierras (the former Central California chapter area). Based in San Francisco, the new chapter will offer expanded educational and social events through combined faculty and expert speakers to community associations and related professionals.
Pending necessary changes to chapter bylaws at an annual membership meeting in December, transitional Directors from the former Central California chapter will join a new combined chapter Board: former CAI Central California chapter President Sherri Annoni Lucy, PCAM, CCAM, Management Alternative, Modesto; homeowner Judy Myron, Stockton; and Jeff Webster, Kasdan, Simonds, McIntyre, Epstein & Martin, San Jose.
