Lynn S. Jordan, Esq., an attorney with the Denver law firm of Powers Phillips, PC, has been named president of the Foundation for Community Association Research, the data-collection arm of Community Associations Institute (CAI). Jordan leads a new slate of officers and members of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

Created by CAI in 1975, the Foundation focuses on illuminating trends, issues and opportunities in the community association field by supporting and conducting research and making that information available to professionals and volunteers involved in association governance.

Foundation officers joining Jordan in 2004 are:

The Foundation has also elected two new members to its Board of Directors:

• P. Richard Means, PCAM, The Keys Condominium Owners Association, Walnut Creek, CA.
• Pamela Scott, CMCA, PCAM, Howard Hughes Corporation, Las Vegas, NV.

The Foundation recently published its 2003 Community Association Manager Compensation and Salary Survey, a comprehensive report that provides salary data for 22 job functions related to association management, including management company CEOs and professional managers.

The group has also published seven Best Practices reports: Transition (from builder to community association control), Reserve Studies Management, Energy Efficiency, Resident Involvement and Conflict Resolution, Financial Operations, Community Harmony/Spirit/Involvement, and Strategic Planning. Foundation Officers:

• President Lynn Jordan has been an active member of CAI's Southern Colorado (Colorado Springs) and Rocky Mountain chapters for nearly two decades, and has been integrally involved in various CAI national activities. She has served as a member of a variety of task forces and committees, contributed to the development of common-interest communities (including co-authoring the Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act), reviewed courses and publications, spoken at various CAI conferences and served as a member of CAI's Amicus Brief Writing Team since 1995.
• President-elect Howard Goldklang has served on the CAI Board of Trustees since 1999 and is an active member and past president of CAI's Washington Metropolitan chapter. He has served on a variety of task forces and committees, contributed to the development of a variety of reports, reviewed course materials and publications and served as a speaker at CAI conferences. Author of CAI's popular publication, The Role of the Association Treasurer, Goldklang earned CAI's Award of Excellence in Membership in 1997-98.
• Vice President Jo-Ann Greenstein is an active member of CAI's New Jersey chapter, has co-chaired several chapter committees and has spoken at numerous chapter events. She has been equally involved in CAI at the national level, serving as chair of CAI's National Education Advisory Committee for three years. A longtime member of the CAI national faculty, Greenstein earned CAI's Award of Excellence in Education in 1997-98.
• Treasurer Mickel Graham has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate and community association management fields. He holds a Georgia broker's license and real estate instructor licenses in Georgia and Utah. Graham is a member of the CAI Board of Trustees, past president of CAI's Georgia chapter, chair of CAI's Membership Committee and a member of the faculty of CAI's Professional Management Development Program (PMDP). He has earned several awards, including the CAI National Chapter Leadership Award and the Georgia CAI Rita Kennedy Award for service.
• Secretary Samuel Dolnick has been an active member of CAI's San Diego chapter for more than a decade and has been involved in various CAI national activities. He has served on a variety of task forces and committees and contributed to numerous CAI publications. Dolnick is a recipient of CAI's Byron Hanke Award for outstanding contributions to homeowner education. CAI's San Diego chapter renamed its Distinguished Service Award the Samuel L. Dolnick Lifetime Achievement Award, the first recipient being Dolnick himself.
• Immediate Past President Ronald Perl is partner-in-charge of his firm's Community Association Law Practice Group. An attorney with more than 20 years of experience in community association law, Perl serves on the Board of Governors of the College of Community Association Lawyers. He is past president of CAI's New Jersey chapter and has served as a member of CAI's PMDP national faculty. He serves as an adjunct professor at Seton Hall School of Law.
