An estimated 50 million Americans now live in communities governed by homeowner and condominium associations and cooperatives. While these communities provide special opportunities and amenities, it is little wonder that they also present unique, complex and evolving issues.
Many of these issues will be addressed at Community Associations Institute's 52nd National Conference and Exposition, May 1-3, at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas. The conference will address topics ranging from assessment collection, insurance coverage and conflict resolution to construction defects, disaster management and pest control.
"We've put together a great conference in a great city," said CAI Chief Executive Officer Tom Skiba. "This is an ideal educational and networking opportunity for community association volunteer leaders, professional association managers and those who work with community associations."
Highlights:
- The conference will feature close to 30 educational sessions, with special programming tracks for legal, insurance and technology issues. Other program topics will include rights and responsibilities for homeowners and community leaders, legislative and regulatory issues, reserve studies, board member-manager relations, team building and media relations.
- CAI's Exhibit Hall will showcase the latest technologies, products and services available to community associations.
- The conference will include the annual CAI awards dinner; special events for the Dallas chapter, community association managers, and Professional Community Association Manager (PCAM) designees; and Shop Talk sessions for attorneys, bankers, accountants and reserve professionals, and insurance specialists.
- Keynote addresses will be given by humorist Joel Zeff and motivational speaker Suzie Humphries.
- The 1,620-room Wyndham Anatole Hotel is located in the heart of the Dallas Market Center, the world's largest wholesale merchandise mart. The hotel features a $12 million fitness facility, three swimming pools and two high-rise atriums with original art and sculptures from throughout the world.
