Common Ground™, the official monthly publication of the Community Associations Institute (CAI), has once again been recognized for design excellence. Print magazine, a national trade publication for graphic design and printing professionals, chose a spread from a recent issue of Common Ground™ as an award winner.
"Reasonable Accommodations", which appeared in the July/August 1999 issue of Common Ground™, was singled out by the editors of Print magazine for its excellence in design. According to Print editor Martin Fox, the magazine received nearly 32,000 entries for the competition from nearly all 50 states. "The process of selection in all regions of the country was as stringent as ever, and, as usual, good work had to be left out for lack of space. We feel that the work we chose is first-rate, and that it represents the best design, illustration and photography being produced throughout the US," he said. The spread from Common Ground™ will be featured, along with all of the other winners, in Print's Regional Design Annual 2000.
The illustrator, Peter Ferguson, along with former CAI designer Cori Canady and CAI Art Director Mary Butler will all be recognized for their work on the project. "This is just another example of the quality publications that CAI produces for its members and the industry," said CAI President Barbara Byrd Keenan. "We're extremely proud of the entire Common Ground™ staff, and know they will continue to produce award winning material."
The Community Associations Institute is a nonprofit association created in 1973 to educate and represent the nation's 205,000 community associations—condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives.
