During CAI's 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition, CAI volunteers assembled more than 500 hygiene kits to donate to D.C.-area homeless veterans.
May 28, 2018 — Falls Church, VA — Community Associations Institute (CAI), the leading international authority in community association education, governance, and management, partnered with Clean the World, a global social enterprise focused on improving health through water, sanitation, and hygiene programs, during CAI's 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition, May 9–12, at the Wardman Park Marriott in Washington, D.C.
During CAI's three-day event, more than 600 conference attendees volunteered numerous hours to work with Clean the World representatives to prepare hygiene kits consisting of unused soap, toothpaste, razors, and shampoo collected from vacated hotel rooms. These kits, which will be distributed to homeless military veterans living in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, can help prevent hygiene-related illnesses. Nearly 350 homeless veterans live in the nation's capital, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
“We are so thankful to partner with CAI volunteers," said Marcus Thomas, client team director for Clean the World, who attended CAI's Annual Conference. “We had a great time assembling these kits, and I look forward to partnering with you all again next year."

CAI's Annual Conference drew nearly 2,000 attendees and exhibitors, including community association managers, homeowner leaders, and business professionals serving millions of condominium communities, community associations, and co-ops worldwide.
