Sept. 30, 2022—Falls Church, Va.— Community Associations Institute (CAI) has awarded its 11,000th Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation.
The second level in the career development track for community association managers, candidates receiving the AMS designation have at least two years of direct community association management experience, have successfully completed two of CAI's M-200 level courses, including facilities management, community governance, risk and financial management, and have passed the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA®) exam administered by the Community Association Managers International Certification Board (CAMICB).
Kimberly Anne Mosey, CMCA, AMS, of KC Property Services in Huntington Woods, Mich., earned the 11,000th AMS designation. Mosey says, “For someone that's been in the industry as long as I have, I still found the AMS program informative. I am honored to be a part of this milestone. It's really rewarding and exciting."
Community managers who earn the AMS designation have the training and knowledge required to provide professional service to their community association clients. They understand the nature, importance, and unique challenges of community association management, and they are committed to excellence and continuing education.
Community associations that employ a manager who has earned an AMS are committed to preserving the character of the community, protecting property values, and meeting the expectations of owners. All AMS designation holders comply with the CAI Professional Manager Code of Ethics.
“More than 90 percent of community association board members would prefer to hire a community manager who has the required education and experience to earn professional credentials," says Thomas M. Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer. “Credentialed managers help steer communities in the right direction, help boards make informed decisions, and guide communities through difficult situations."
