Community association leaders from across the country will convene in Arlington, VA, October 30 for Community Associations Institute's 30th Anniversary Conference & Exposition.
The three-day event at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, VA, is designed for all community association stakeholders - volunteer community leaders, professional managers, management company executives, homeowners, accountants, attorneys, insurance and financial professionals and other product and service providers.
An estimated 50 million Americans—including hundreds of thousands of people in the Washington metropolitan area—live in homeowner and condominium associations, cooperatives and other planned communities.
The conference will address a spectrum of topics important to those who live and work in the nation's estimated 250,000 community associations. These issues include governance, neighborhood diversity and harmony, land-use disputes, builder transition, community rulemaking, website development and legal issues. CAI's landmark national campaign, Rights and Responsibilities for Better Communities, will also be addressed.
"We've wanted to bring this event back to the Washington area ever since our highly successful 25th Anniversary Conference in 1998," said CAI Chief Executive Officer Thomas M. Skiba. "This is the best educational and networking opportunity for all segments of the growing and evolving community association field. It's a chance to get the latest expert views on the wide range of issues facing community associations. And there's no better opportunity to interact with your peers, whether you're an involved homeowner, an elected community leader, a professional manager or a supplier."
Conference highlights include:
- General sessions featuring the co-hosts of CNN's Crossfire—Paul Begala, preeminent political strategist and former advisor to President Clinton, and Tucker Carlson, considered one of the best political analysts in broadcast journalism today.
- Numerous education sessions, a full-day symposium on community governance, briefings on legal and legislative issues and Shop Talk sessions for community managers, attorneys, bankers, accountants, reserve professionals, and insurance and risk-management specialists.
- CAI's Exhibit Hall, showcasing the latest technologies, products and services available to community associations.
- The 30th Anniversary Gala, a black-tie celebration that includes dinner and dancing.
