Discover the elements of leadership at Community Associations Institute's (CAI) Community Leadership Forum to be held in Lake Buena Vista (Orlando), Florida from October 24-26 at Disney's Contemporary Resort. The Community Forum will breathe new life into community association professionals' careers and ignite a renewed passion for leadership. Attendees will learn to weather storms in both professional and private life and chart a course to success at this year's fall conference.
The conference will open Thursday with "Leadership, Disney Style" teaching key leadership strategies by representatives from the Disney Institute and will continue with "I Think, Therefore I Lead" by Stephen Harvill during Friday morning’s general session. This multi-media, interactive program will take guests on a journey through the art of thinking and its application to making critical leadership decisions.
"The Community Leadership Forum will be a great opportunity for community managers, leaders and other professionals to come together to discuss the challenges facing today’s and future communities," said Erin Fuller, CAE, CAI's Vice President of Education. "CAI has made a strong effort to bring in advanced-level programs to help community leaders strengthen their skills and learn from the best in the field."
Other topics to be addressed include community leadership, professional ethics in community management, political and management issues facing large-scale communities, and community financial issues. CAI will also run five Professional Management Development Program (PMDP) courses, including "The Essentials of Community Association Management," "Risk Management," "Manager and the Law," and "Contemporary Issues in Community Association Management–Community Security." CAI members will also be able to play in a golf tournament at Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, to benefit CAI's Issues Advancement Fund.
