CAI's Barbara Byrd Keenan Wins Association Leadership Award

Barbara Byrd Keenan, CAE, executive vice president of the Community Associations Institute, was selected as the winner of an Association Leadership Award by the Business Women's Network and Association Trends magazine. Keenan is among ten top female association executives who will be honored at BWN's symposium celebrating "Leadership into the Next Millenium," Oct. 14, at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Keenan was selected for her visionary leadership of CAI, for acting as a role model to other women in the nonprofit community and for her commitment to partnership and networking.

The Business Women's Network is a coalition of more than 2,000 business and professional organizations representing 10 million professional and entrepreneurial women in the U.S. Association Trends is an independent weekly news publication for association professionals throughout the country.

The Community Associations Institute is a nonprofit association created in 1973 to educate and represent the nation's 205,000 community associations—condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives. CAI members include homeowners, associations and related professionals and service providers.
