The Community Associations Institute (CAI) is pleased to announce that it has recently been named an Alliance Association of the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA). This recently developed alliance will further advance CAI's mission and goals.
CMAA's mission is to advance the profession of club management by fulfilling the educational and related needs of its members by providing state-of- the-art educational programs, representing the members to allied associations, club members and a broader public, and providing unique information and resources that increase member performance and career potential. CAI was asked to become an Allied Association because of the recognition by CMAA that "our respective organizations have similar missions and visions—to provide education and certification to our members and to move our respective industries forward by acting as a clearinghouse for the most timely and pertinent industry resources," wrote Bridget Gorman Wendling, CMAA Manger, Public Affairs.
As a result of CAI's new status as an Allied Association, CMAA members will be able to earn education credits for their organization by attending CAI programs and courses. Allied association credits are awarded on the basis of one credit per hour of instruction up to a maximum of 10 credits per week, and they count toward the total credit requirements for CMAA certification, recertification, Honor Society and Master Club Manager (MCM) eligibility. "This is a great opportunity for community association managers to broaden their scope of education," said CAI Senior Vice President Kris Cook, CAE. "We're looking forward to working with CMAA to advance our position as a leader in the industry, and to continue to build relationships with other organizations of similar character and vision."
The Community Associations Institute is a nonprofit association created in 1973 to educate and represent the nation's 205,000 community associations—condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives. CAI members include homeowners, associations and related professionals and service providers.
