The 23rd Annual Community Association Law Seminar, sponsored by the Community Associations Institute (CAI), will take place from February 1-2, 2002 at the Loews Coronado Bay Hotel in San Diego, CA and from February 22-23, 2002 at The St. Regis Hotel in Washington, DC.
These two-day forums explore future trends and practices of law in homeowner associations, condominium associations and cooperatives. Attendees receive practical preparation enabling them to deal with the most pressing issues facing condominiums and homeowner associations today, and will know how to plan for the next five years in the practice of association law.
According to Erin Fuller, CAI's Vice President of Education, "We're expecting nearly 300 attorneys and other community association professionals, so attendees will also have an unprecedented chance to develop a valuable, powerful network of colleagues around the country."
Attendees will hear expert advice and learn about the latest developments on topics including: drafting effective documents, fair debt collection, reasonable accommodations under the Fair Housing Act, construction defect litigation, telecommunications contracts and insurance issues.
The distinguished faculty is comprised of attorneys and other industry experts from across the country.
In addition, CAI will host a track for newcomers to community association law on Saturday at each session; this six hour seminar will cover the basics of topics including collections, covenant enforcement, opinion letters and other hot topics. This one-day track costs $275, and participants will receive a complimentary copy of "Community Association Law: Cases and Material on Common Interest Communities," the key legal reference for this practice area.
Cost for the full law seminar is $525 for CAI members, and $550 for non-members.
