CAI Issues a Call for Presentations for 50th National Conference

11/6/2000  -  Alexandria, VA

The Community Associations Institute (CAI) has issued a call for presentations for its 50th National Conference, to be held in Tucson, Arizona, on May 3-5, 2001. All advanced level education programs, relevant to the community association industry, are being considered.

CAI is looking for proposals from seasoned professionals and community leaders who work directly or indirectly with condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives and from individual homeowners and board members. Past session presenters are welcomed to reapply, however, new program topics are requested from past presenters.

Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • advanced level material
  • overall quality
  • need and demand for the information; and
  • practical application

Programs themselves should be fairly focused on a specific topic. However, broad topical areas that your presentation could cover include leadership, research, management and community infrastructure.

If you are interested in being a CAI conference presenter, you must prepare a one- to two-page description of your session that includes: a list of the three learning objectives of your session, at least three specific benefits to having this knowledge, how you gained your expertise on this topic, why this topic is important to community associations, how this presentation differs from anything this audience has seen in the last year, a brief biography of yourself and any co-presenters, and, if possible, a photograph of yourself for program promotion purposes. In addition, a completed Conference Program Proposal Form must be attached to your proposal.

If you have any further questions, or need a copy of the Conference Program Proposal Form, please call Erin Fuller, Vice President, Education, at (703) 797-6328, or e-mail her at efuller(at)caionline.org. Completed packages must be received at the CAI office no later than Dec. 15.

The Community Associations Institute is a nonprofit association created in 1973 to educate and represent the nation's 205,000 community associations—condominium associations, homeowner associations and cooperatives. CAI members include homeowners, associations and related professionals and service providers.
