COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS INSTITUTE (CAI) HOSTS FLORIDA LEADERSHIP FORUM
More than 200 community association homeowners,
managers, and business professionals gather in Orlando for first-ever event

Nov. 1, 2017 — Falls Church, VA — Today, more than 9 million Florida residents live in a community association or condominium—making it is essential that these homeowners and managers are equipped with the tools and resources to ensure their associations run successfully. To assist association homeowners and community managers alike, Community Associations Institute (CAI), the leading international authority in community association education, governance, and management is hosting the first-ever Florida Leadership Forum, Nov. 3 at the Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at SeaWorld in Orlando, Fla.

flf.jpgCAI in conjunction with its eight Florida Chapters presents the one-day, statewide event designed exclusively for Florida community managers, association board members, and other homeowners with education and networking opportunities. More than 200 Florida residents will take part in five education sessions and a trade show with more than 60 exhibitors showcasing the latest products and services for Florida community associations.

Tom Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer delivers a comprehensive picture of the community association industry. Other education sessions include topics on maintenance and restoration, preparing and managing reserve funds, association insurance, and legislative news impacting Florida communities. In the aftermath of Hurricane Irma, CAI member, Joel W. Meskin, Esq., will moderate a panel of insurance professionals, private adjusters, attorneys, and disaster relief experts to explore lessons learned following the storm and how Florida communities can prepare for future natural disasters.

According to the Foundation for Community Association Research (FCAR) Statistical Review 2016, Florida is home to 47,000 community associations. "Whether you are considering buying a home in a newly developed neighborhood, a resale in an existing community, or you are renting in the sunshine state, there's a great chance your home is part of a community association," said Skiba. "Each Day, CAI's eight Local Chapters work tirelessly to educate and train thousands of homeowners, managers, and business partners living and working in these associations. And, historically many issues and trends occurring in Florida community associations often shape communities around the world and with that, we're confident CAI's new Florida Leadership Forum will be an annual event offering the highest level of resources and education available to Florida residents."

Registration for CAI's Florida Leadership Forum is $99 for CAI members and $119 for nonmembers. Visit www.caionline.org/events to learn more.
