Community Associations Institute (CAI) is taking its popular education courses on the road—this time to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Kirk Watilo, LSM, PCAM, a long-time CAI instructor and vice president of large-scale community services at Action Property Management in Irvine, California, will teach two courses December 5-7 to managers in Dubai. The courses, Association Communication (M-202) and Association Leadership (M-203), are among 15 courses offered as part of CAI’s Professional Management Development Program (PMDP).
Watilo will be joined in Dubai by CAI Chief Executive Officer Thomas Skiba, CAE, who will attend an educational conference organized to pave the way for a CAI affiliate in Dubai.
“This is a terrific opportunity to share the wealth of knowledge and experience found in the PMDP curriculum,” says Watilo, who earned CAI’s Educator of the Year award in 2008. “I look forward to meeting our professional peers in Dubai and supporting collaborative efforts to develop a partnership based on elevated standards of practice in community management.”
CAI is providing the courses as part of a partnership with the Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) to provide education and training to managers in the UAE and support the development of a CAI chapter in that Middle Eastern country.
More than a dozen managers in Dubai have already earned the Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) credential. The CMCA is awarded by CAI’s sister organization, the National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM).
