COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS INSTITUTE PRESENTS THE 2018
ANNUAL CONFERENCE AND EXPOSITION, MAY 9-12 IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Largest international gathering for professionals living and working in homeowners associations, condominiums, and housing cooperatives representing $5.5 trillion of the U.S. real estate market.
May 7, 2018 — Falls Church, VA — Community Associations Institute's (CAI) is proud to host the largest international gathering of homeowners, community managers, and businesses serving community associations worldwide at the 2018 Annual Conference and Exposition, May 9-12, in Washington, D.C. at the Marriott Wardman Park. The three-day conference is the premier destination, where nearly 2,000 attendees will come together, share ideas, and network with community association peers from around the world.
Keynote speakers Cam Marston and Katty Kay headline this year's conference. Marston is recognized as the leading expert on generational changes and their impact on the marketplace. Kay is a BBC World News America anchor and will offer global insights on economic and political trends reshaping organizations today.
CAI understands that community associations increasingly are being called on to play a significant role in the way we live, learn, work, and play. By addressing this year's theme, “We the Community," CAI believes the community as a whole—with its unique mix of cultural identities, socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, and more—represents the truly physical and cultural reality of today's world.
According to CAI, by 2040, it is expected the community association housing model will become the majority form of housing in the U.S. Today, with approximately 69 million Americans living in a community association, commonly referred to as planned communities (e.g. homeowners associations, condominiums, and housing cooperatives), the need to educate homeowners on understanding their rights and responsibilities is essential. And, as the role of a community manager, commonly referred to as a property manager, evolves and faces new challenges, CAI's annual conference continues its tradition for showcasing world-class education and information services, where attendees can sharpen their professional skills with 30 high-level education sessions and pre-conference courses. In addition, CAI's exposition hall will feature more than 160 companies and professional services that support community association living.
“It's outstanding to see that community association professionals will spread their wings to new locations so that they can equip themselves with new tools, resources, and learnings to take back to their communities and achieve long-term success," says Thomas M. Skiba, CAE, CAI's chief executive officer. “Judging by this year's attendance numbers for the Washington, D.C. area, we anticipate communities worldwide to grow even stronger from these highly-educated leaders."
Registration for the event is still open to both CAI members and nonmembers. For online registration, visit www.caionline.org/AnnualConference. Follow the Annual Conference hashtag, #CAI2018, to take part in the conversation.
