The Business Partners Council represents products and services providers, and community association industry professionals.
Make-up
The Business Partners Council is made up of twelve (12) members, with at least one person who belongs to each of the following six (6) categories:
- Accountant
- Attorney
- Banker
- Insurance Professional
- Owner or Employee of Technology Firm
- Reserve Specialist
The six (6) remaining seats on the Council may be filled by a Business Partner, regardless of representation. However, no one category of business partners is permitted to have more than 50% of the slots on the Business Partners Council.Roles
Relative to the Board of Trustees
- Give Input on policy matters to CAI's Board of Trustees
- Elect two members of the Business Partners Council to serve on the Board of Trustees
- Appoint one Business Partner to serve on the Nominating Committee to fill open at-large positions on the Board of Trustees
- Appoint three Business Partners to serve on the Government and Public Affairs Committee
Relative to CAI Staff
- Make recommendations on education curriculum
- Make recommendations on designations
- Make recommendations on best practices
- Provide other input and make recommendations as requested by CEO and staff
Autonomous
Identify
what is of value to the business partner members.
Terms
- Council members shall serve 2-year terms.
- In general, A Council member may not serve more than 6 years.
Election of Members
Each year, business partner members will have the opportunity to nominate themselves for a position on the Business Partners Council. Business partner members will then vote for members of the Council via an online election.
