Business Partners Council Charter

​The Business Partners Council represents products and services providers, and community association industry professionals.​​

​​Make-up​​

​​The Business Partners Council is made up of twelve (12) members, with at least one person who belongs to each of the following six (6) categories:

  • Accountant
  • Attorney
  • Banker
  • Insurance Professional
  • Owner or Employee of Technology Firm
  • Reserve Specialist​
The six (6) remaining seats on the Council may be filled by a Business Partner, regardless of representation. However, no one category of business partners is permitted to have more than 50% of the slots on the Business Partners Council.​​

Roles​

​​​Relative to the Board of Trustees​

  • Give Input on policy matters to CAI's Board of Trustees
  • Elect two members of the Business Partners Council to serve on the Board of Trustees
  • Appoint one Business Partner to serve on the Nominating Committee to fill open at-large positions on the Board of Trustees
  • Appoint three Business Partners to serve on the Government and Public Affairs Committee

Relative to CAI Staff​

  • ​​​​Make recommendations on education curriculum
  • Make recommendations on designations
  • Make recommendations on best practices
  • Provide other input and make recommendations as requested by CEO and staff

​Autonomous

​​Identify what is of value to the business partner members.

Terms​​​​

  • ​​Council members shall serve 2-year terms.
  • In general, A Council member may not serve more than 6 years.

Election of Members​​​​​

Each year, business partner members will have the opportunity to nominate themselves for a position on the Business Partners Council. Business partner members will then vote for members of the Council via an online election.
