CAI encourages all communities and their residents to be ready for hurricanes. Check ready.gov (here) frequently for the latest updates on the storms.

HOW EFFECTIVE IS YOUR HURRICANE PLAN?

bp.PNGMany community associations activate an emergency plan as a hurricane approaches. But just how thorough is yours? CAI's award-winning magazine, Common Ground, recently reported on a hurricane preparedness plan that your community can model in the article, High Anxiety. The plan—from a Florida condominium—is written with military-style precision, featuring an Incident Command System complete with a flow chart of key steps to be taken before, during, and after a major storm.

Flood Preparation
An influx of water that is not drained properly throughout a city can cause flooding. Learn how to prepare both before and after a flood here

Working with FEMA

FEMA does NOT reimburse community associations that remove debris from private roads. We strongly encourage you to review the guidelines for removing debris NOW.

Homeowner Perspective

Community association residents like these are ready for #HurricaneFlorence. Watch how this North Carolina family has secured their home and prepared for every scenario this catastrophic storm may bring to their coast.
